Star Architecture from Star Architects?

The new Walker Art Center , Guthrie Theater, and the MIA and Children's Theater Additions, all designed by "star" architects.

What do you think, could it have been done without "them"?

Eric, as long as you're making the effort, perhaps you could offer a little more explanation of your opinion. I appreciate a terse remark, but others might be stimulated by expanding from the monosyllable. Please consider. Thanks

Wow! The pic of the Walker reminds of how much I dislike the architecture. It reminds me of a big box that fell from outer space. It's rather anthropomorphic with the placement of the windows - profile view going south on Hennepin. And what about that entrance you hardly know is there? Inside entrance? Claustraphobia-ville. I think a local architect could have done better. Star architects have their place but, in my opinion, not in this instance. I am a member of the public.

It's nice to know someone out there thinks a local architect could have done better. Now that we know your opinion of the outside, what about the inside? Thanks for posting, please feel free to post on other issues in this blog, we appreciate and encourage members of the public to provide their frank opinions.
