Historically, graduates from the UMN have performed above the national average in passing their Architect Registration Examinations (ARE). The most recent data, however, has begun to show that local grads are falling below average in a few testing divisions: Site Planning, Building Planning, and Building Technology.
Perhaps it's worth noting that--at the time--these three sections were the only ones which contained graphic layout requirements while the other divisions were strictly multiple choice. What do you think is behind the drop in passing scores? As ARE 4.0 is phased in this year, along with its graphic components in all divisions, how do you expect UMN alumni to perform?
