We look at the photos. We read about them. And then we usually just turn the page. Award-winning buildings and landscapes are all around us, but how often do we actually experience--first hand--the places honored by our profession?
Located near the picturesque village of Marine on St. Croix, Jackson Meadow is such a place. Ever since ground was broken for the residential development in 1998, architect David Salmela and landscape architect Shane Coen have been honored with--what seems to be--an endless stream of design awards (the latest of which is a 2008 MASLA Merit Award for one of the development's homesites).
We've all seen the photos, we've all read the press...maybe its time to experience it in person.
