In Plain Sight | Split Rock Lighthouse

A magnificent summer sunset had just passed. The warm August sky over Lake Superior was flooded with color for a few precious minutes...rush hour to a photographer. Yet, the gentleman at the Split Rock Lighthouse scenic overlook sat motionless on the rocks, a camera slung around his neck. He was not interested in sunlight today.

"What time does the light come on?" he asked.

"I'm sorry," I broke the news to him. "Only once a year...on November 10th."
